University of Sciences strengthens academic cooperation with the Consul General of Japan in Da Nang
On the morning of December 23, 2025, the University of Sciences, Hue University hosted a working session with Mr. Mori Takero, Consul General of Japan in Da Nang, aimed at enhancing academic exchange and promoting international cooperation in the fields of history, oriental studies, and the social sciences and humanities.
Representing the University of Sciences were Dr. Phan Tuan Anh, Vice Rector; Dr. Tran Thi Phuong An, Deputy Head of the Office of Science, Technology and International Relations; Dr. Duong Quang Hiep, Head of the Faculty of History; along with faculty members and students specializing in Japanese Studies and Eastern Studies.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on ongoing and potential collaborative activities, with particular emphasis on the Read Japan Project, sponsored by The Nippon Foundation. Within the framework of this initiative, the Department of History received 181 volumes on Japanese history, culture, and international relations. These materials constitute a valuable academic resource, contributing to the enhancement of teaching quality, scholarly research, and student learning at the University.
Speaking at the meeting, the Consul General reaffirmed Japan’s commitment to supporting educational and cultural cooperation with Vietnamese higher education institutions. The formal handover of the book collection and the Consul General’s interaction with students majoring in Japanese Studies further reflected the shared commitment to fostering mutual understanding and long-term academic collaboration between Vietnam and Japan.
The meeting was conducted in an open and cordial atmosphere, opening promising prospects for further practical cooperation in the near future.
