The conference brought together more than 50 national and international researchers and environment activists from various fields, featuring keynote speakers from Germany, India, Indonesia, Taiwan (China), Japan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh, as well as numerous lecturers, graduate students, and undergraduates from across Vietnam.

The main objectives of the conference was to foster deeper understanding of the environmental and social contexts that render coastal issues increasingly urgent in today’s globalized world. Key research topics focused on the complex interactions between environmental change, media discourse, technological management, and public policy. The conference also served as a valuable platform for scholars to exchange ideas, share experiences, and engage in in-depth discussions.

Expected outcomes of the conference include the publication of a comprehensive research volume on coastal issues from a comparative international perspective; recommendations on communication and technological solutions to strengthen climate change resilience; the establishment of international research networks; and raising community awareness of the strategic significance of coastal regions in the context of global sustainability.

The conference will continue with its final sessions on March 15. Prior to the main event, on March 13, participating scholars enjoyed a cultural excursion, exploring Hue’s historical landmarks and enjoying a scenic boat tour along the Perfume River. The conference is expected to gain positive outcomes and generate meaningful contributions to research and solutions on environmental challenges and sustainable development in coastal areas worldwide.
