Welcoming and Working with Professors from Waseda University, Japan

On the afternoon of May 20, 2025, University of Sciences, Hue University (HUSC) had the honor of welcoming a delegation from Waseda University (Japan), one of Asia’s leading universities, for an official visit and working session.

 The Waseda University delegation included Prof. Yaguchi Tetsuya from the Institute of Urban and Regional Studies, and Professor Emeritus Shigeru Satoh, a renowned expert in architecture and urban development.

 Representing the HUSC were Assoc.Prof. Vo Thanh Tung, Rector; Assoc.Prof. Huynh Thi Anh Phuong, Head of the Office for Science, Technology and International Relations; along with faculty members from the Faculty of Architecture, Faculty of Environment, and Faculty of Geography and Geology.

 The meeting was also attended by Dr. Ho Dac Thai Hoang, President of the Union of Science and Technology Associations of Hue City; Ms. Phan Thi Thuy Van, Deputy Director of the Institute for Development Studies; and representatives from the Hue City Department of Construction.

 In the welcome speech, Assoc.Prof. Vo Thanh Tung expressed his appreciation for the visit by the Waseda professors and emphasized the HUSC’s desire to promote a strategic partnership between the two institutions. He also highlighted the vital role of international partners and local authorities in advancing interdisciplinary and sustainable development projects.

 During the working session, the two sides engaged in open and constructive discussions regarding potential areas for future collaboration, particularly in research, academic exchange, and sustainable urban development. Initial plans were outlined, with clearly defined roles for each participating unit.

 This visit not only opens up promising prospects for cooperation between the University of Sciences, Hue University and Waseda University but also strengthens the HUSC’s connections with both domestic and international partners, in alignment with its goals for sustainable development and global integration.
