Students of History Faculty, HUSC won the second prize of “Green Sunday” writing competition organized by Thua Thien Hue Province.

In the afternoon of 11 October, the closing ceremony and prize award of “Green Sunday” writing competition and “Say no to plastic bags and single-use plastics” movement was held at the Office of the Provincial People’s Committee. The competition was launched by Thua Thien Hue Portal and Thua Thien Hue Development Study Institute.

After three months of taking place (from 13 July to 30 September), the Competition Organizers received more than 20 writings and photos from different individuals and teams. After the first elimination, 15 writings were chosen and posted on the Fanpage of People’s Committee of Thua Thien Hue province for reader to choose the best ones.

According to the Organizer, most of the writings are quite good and meet the required criteria such as: conveying the meaning and message of the movement, reflecting the ideas or creativeness of “Green Sunday” and “Say no plastic bags and single-use plastics”, which have had the profound effects on communities; and find out suitable solutions to conduct effectively the “Green Sunday” movement as well.

The competition attracted the participation of different individuals and organizations including students, teachers, staff in Thua Thien Hue province and those from other provinces, which has confirmed the positive impacts of “Green Sunday” movement on people’s awareness.

Le Thi Thu Thao, student of History Faculty, HUSC won the second prize with the work named “The weekend story – Green Sunday”. The writing focused on voluntary activities of HUSC students that Thuy participated in Hong Thuy Commune, Aluoi District.
