The visit of the Rector of the University of Sciences at the National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU).
The Rector Assoc.Prof. Vo Thanh Tung attended the 101st Anniversary and had the meeting with the leaders of National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) from June 3-7, 2023.
Dr. Tran Thi Phuong An, Vice Head of the Office for Science and Technology and International Reations of the University of Sciences participated in the business trip. There were also the participants from the University of Education, Hue University and Danang University of Education (UD-UED).
National Taiwan Normal University was founded in 1922 originally specializing in educational pedagogy. The National Taiwan Normal University then focused on being a complete institution with training in multiple disciplines and professions, developing a vibrant learning community. There are now 9 colleges at the university, including ones for science, business administration, sociology, education, and the arts and humanities. Numerous international students have been drawn to the institution because of its multidisciplinary focus to pursue studies at the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels. Many of these students are particularly interested in studying Chinese and come from more than 170 different countries in the world.
During the business trip, the University of Sciences signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the National Taiwan Normal University in training, scientific research and exchange of staff and students...
Assoc.Prof.Dr. Vo Thanh Tung, Rector also had a meeting and worked with the College of Science, belonging to NTNU and proposed a 4+1 training program in coordination between the two units (the fourth year students’s thesis would be supervised by Vietnamese and Taiwanese professors). In order to introduce the research directions of the two universities, identify a shared direction, and develop cooperation contents to support the two universities in scientific research and training, the delegation also held a private meeting with the IT department of the College of Science.
On this occasion, the Rector also visited Professor Yuei-An LIOU's research center at National Central University (NCU) for Remote sensing and Space technology. The visit is the first step for a future research cooperation relationship.
