Hue University of Sciences will host Vietnam Student Olympiad in Informatics by 2023

Vietnam Student Olympiad in Informatics (OLP'22), Procon Vietnam and the 2022 International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) Asia in Ho Chi Minh City  was organized at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education from December 6-9, 2022.

OLP’22, Procon và ICPC Asia Hochiminh City attracted best students majored in Information Technology. The events were to praise students’ talents and skills in IT in Vietnam at the international scope. ICPC Asia Hochiminh City exam results would select the best Asia-Pacific teams to attend the 2023 Global ICPC at Final round organized in Egypt. In 2022, Vietnamese students ranked 12th globally at the first time and won the Bronze Medal at the World Final ICPC in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

OLP’22, Procon và ICPC Asia Hochiminh City gathered 648 students majored in IT and over 140 supervisors from 70 universities, colleges and institutes nationwide and 7 teams consisting of 21 students from Singapore.

Students of the Faculty of Information Technology, Hue University participated in the events and won the following prizes:

• Awards for Specialist OLP
• Second prize awarded for Ngo Van Hai
• Third prize awarded for Le Sy Toan
• Consolation awarded for Truong Doan
• Awards for Non-specialist OLP
• Consolation awarded for Nguyen The Quang
• Consolation awarded for Vo Van Canh
• ICPC awards

Consolation Prize for HUSC.[401]_UnauthorizeD team. The HUSC.[401]_UnauthorizeD team won the second prize at the Central Vietnam Round ICPC and Satisfactory prize at the National ICPC.

Especially, Hue University of Sciences would be honorly the next host of Vietnam Student Olympiad in Informatics by 2023. Assoc. Prof. Vo Thanh Tung attended the closing ceremony to congratulate the teams and receive the event flag.
